EDEN – European Destination of Excellence

The Azores is the first Portuguese region to be a part of the restricted number of the European Network of Excellent Sustainable Tourism Destinations. In this case because the Natural Park of Faial was awarded the prize “EDEN – Excellent European Destination”. The EDEN award aims at rewarding destinations for their commitment to social, cultural and environmental sustainability in Europe, and the Azores were once again acknowledged as an example of sustainable tourism.
