Espaço Talassa
Inglês: Founded in 1989, Espaço Talassa is the first whale watching company in the Azores. Born from the encounter between a former Azorean whaler and a French sailor united by their passion for the sea. Based in Lajes do Pico, next to the historic Whaler’s Museum, our multicultural team has spent over 35 years guiding visitors to unforgettable encounters with sperm whales, dolphins, and other marine life in their natural habitat. More than a tour operator, we are a research and study base dedicated to cetacean conservation, involved in different projects with several universities and other scientific entities. For every customer, we donate €0.50 to reforestation, because the sea is blue because forests are green. Pico Island is one of the world’s top 10 whale watching destinations, don’t miss it.
Service
We mainly operate as a Whale and Dolphin Watching provider but we also have a restaurant and hotel to accommodate our clients. Our Services include:
- Whale and Dolphin Watching tours in zodiacs (with maximum of 12 or 24 people per boat);
- Special: Blue Whale Package;
- São Jorge Full-day trip (from Pico in one of our zodiacs);
- Packages that combine several whale watching tours with accommodation in our hotel;
- Packages that combine several whale watching tours and Outdoor tours with accommodation in our hotel;
- Outdoor tours (Vineyards with picnic, Lakes and Vulcanos, Pico climbing and Bird Watching).
