Império do Divino Espírito Santo

The impérios [Small Temples] are buildings aimed for the exhibition of elements of the Holy Spirit’s cult, namely the crown, the banner and the staffs.

The Império of the Portal dates the year 1901. In this locality, by the time of the Holy Spirit and Trinity, there is a very interesting particularity. There is the tradition of the delivery of the so-called "ramo" a flower taken from the flower arrangements of the Império and placed in a glass of wine - all this happens on Monday night and marks the arrival of the mordomo who will be responsible for the next year's feast. This popular ritual consists of handing this glass to any man present at the party. Highlight in the Portal for the ”bolos de véspera” that are pasted and baked by the Mordomos in an atmosphere of great celebration and of great devotion to the Holy Spirit. Emphasis on this locality for the wine procession.
